SIĆEVO GORGE is a beautiful, attractive canyon, 17km long, through which the river Nišava runs. The river often changes its direction and creates cascades. In this peaceful environment one can find more than 30 small churches and monasteries of unique historical importance. Due to everything it offers, Sićevo Gorge has been proclaimed Special Nature Reserve. Five kilometers from the village of Sićevo, on the road Niš-Sofia there is Sićevo Hotel, offering 72 beds, surrounded by courts for basketball, volleyball, handball, and football. It is ideal for organizing sport camps, while the vivid environment is perfect for walks, mountaineering, and fishing. The attractive canyon of the river Nišava is ideal for kayaking. Numerous international contests have been organized along this track.

BOJANINE VODE (Bojana’s Waters), an excursion site on the slopes of Mt. Suva Planina, is located 25km from the town. It hosts a 900 meter ski track, with a 320m vertical difference and a very wide surface, suitable for slalom competitions
CERJANSKA CAVE, 14km away from Niš, near the village of Cerje, is located at 515m above sea level. Its underground halls preserve an extraordinary treasure, limestone cave formations – stalactites, stalagmites, flowstone draperies, pillars, helictites, salines, and other natural beauties.
THE HILL OF KAMENICA is an excursion site in the close vicinity of Niš, located 14km from the city center. It is situated on the ideal altitude – 750-800m above sea level. Accommodation is available in the tourist resort “Šumski cvet“ (“The Forest Flower“), on a forest covered slope. During the winter season, the site provides a lot of opportunity for winter sports, with a 350 meter long ski slope, a sledding track, and two ski lifts. |
