Niška Banja (Niš Spa) has always been a cozy, pleasant and healthy place for relaxation, summer holidays, sightseeing, medical treatments and rehabilitation. It offers healing water springs, pleasant climate and excellent medical assistance. Niška Banja is located 10 km from Niš, at the foot of Mt. Suva Planina.
It was first mentioned centuries ago, in 448. With the remains and heritage from the ancient (thermae - public baths 2nd century AD) and early Byzantine periods, it remains unique. Saint Proust wrote down in 1768 that its bathroom in open was like the one in Buda(pest).
Even rice was once grown here. In the 1930s, Banja started to develop intensively and methodically. Lights appeared in 1925, many famous people built their villas, promenades and parks were arranged, comfortable hotels were built and trams came from Nis in 1929.
Niška Banja heals coronary and blood vessel diseases, increased blood pressure and rheumatic disorders. It also offers the treatment of orthopedic injuries, body weight control, anti - cellulite treatments and postoperative rehabilitation. For a decade and a half now, the summer in Niška Banja has also been marked by another famous authentic Serbian event: the International Fair of Traditional Arts.

Among numerous options for sport, walks, and fitness training, one finds a football court, a concrete court for indoor soccer, tennis courts, a sport hall, a horse racing court, a walking track going through the woods to the village of Koritnjak. Lately, the spa has been a venue of international paragliding competitions.
